TRACK 1: Continuing ePortfolio Scholars
This track is open to all students who have completed the First Year seminar course in the previous two semesters. This track will focus on post-FYS content in the core ePortfolio. Over the course of the program, students will have an opportunity to work closely with a Peer Advisor in developing key advisement areas, such as the Student Success Plan (SSP) section, that will help students keep building their core ePortfolios.
Ideal ePortfolios considered for Track 1 will:
Have at least the following pages complete: About Me, Understanding Myself, Planning My Degree, College Resources, and the First Year Seminar course pages (if additional pages are complete, that's a plus)
Have basic design customization (background images) across all pages
Have written text with minimal grammatical errors
Have images and media that represent the student's major and/or interests
TRACK 2: Graduating ePortfolio Scholars
This track is open to all students who are near the graduation point. Students with more than 45 credits are eligible to be part of this cohort. Over the course of the program, students will focus on further developing and polishing their showcase ePortfolios while looking at key areas such as transfer and career readiness content.
Students' ePortfolios considered for Track 2 will:
Have the following pages complete: About Me, Understanding Myself, Planning My Degree, Career Planning, College Resources, and the First Year Seminar course pages
Have other coursework pages complete that represent work in and outside the major including assignments and projects
Have design customization (background images) across all pages
Have written text with minimal grammatical errors
Have images and media that represent the student's major and/or interests
The ePortfolio Scholars program participants will receive a certificate of completion, recognition as an ePortfolio Scholar and awards that include a digital badge to Scholars who attend all the workshops and complete their ePortfolios with an evaluation higher than satisfactory. Also, Scholars' ePortfolios will be published and highlighted on the ePortfolio website.
Dates, Eligibiltiy & Commitment
Dates: FALL 2020
The ePortfolio Scholars Program will run from October 26, 2020 to December 7, 2020 on Mondays and meet virtually on ZOOM/Blackboard. Applications for the Fall 2020 semester will be accepted until October 19th, 2020. Students who are chosen to participate will be notified via email no later than October 23, 2020.
Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in the ePortfolio Scholars Program, students must be registered for classes at LaGuardia during the semester in which they participate. Additionally, students must choose one of the tracks offered and must submit an existing ePortfolio as part of the application. Criteria for ePortfolios are indicated for each track.
Commitment
To complete the program successfully, students must commit to:
Attending all sessions
Devoting appropriate time outside class time to complete ePortfolio work
Committing to visit other campus resources (Peer Advisor, Writing Center, Center for Career and Professional Development Center, or other) when required
Attending at least one on-campus co-curricular event and post it on the ePortfolio
Delivering a presentable and polished ePortfolio by the end of the program
